What is an adequate sample size? Operationalising data saturation for theory-based interview studies [PDF]
In interview studies, sample size is often justified by interviewing participants until reaching “data saturation”. However, there is no agreed method of establishing this.

Saturation Biopsy of the Prostate: Why Saturation Does Not Saturate
European Urology, 2009Currently, the adoption of extended, laterally directed, systematic templates for transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)– guided prostate biopsy (PBx) including at least 10 cores is considered the gold standard, since it significantly enhances the diagnosis of prostate cancer (PC) compared to conventional sextant protocols [1,2].

Several hyperbolically saturating empirical models, such as the Michaelis-Menten rate equation, Monod's relative population growth rate, competitive inhibition, and Langmuir's adsorption, are rederived from a simple queuing relation. The resulting derivations reveal and potentially explain the underlying structure and meaning of such empirical models ...

Audible pulse tones, based on a variable-pitch frequency scale, allow the anesthesiologist to determine the patient's oxygen saturation without constant visual examination of the monitor display. The ability to reliably detect oxygen saturation levels based on audible pulse tones may be compromised when multiple pulse oximeter systems are used.

In this paper, we give consistency proofs for the existence of a κ-saturated ideal on an inaccessible κ, and for the existence of an ω2-saturated ideal on ω1. We also include an historical survey outlining other known results on saturated ideals.§1. Forcing.

A question hotly debated in neuroscience concerns the origins of learning: Does long-term potentiation--the enhancement of synaptic function triggered by strong stimulus--represent the neural basis of learning? In his Perspective, Bliss discusses results reported in the same issue by [ Moser et al .][1] in which the authors have revisited a classic ...

Soil carbon saturation: Implications for measurable carbon pool dynamics in long-term incubations
The efficiency of agricultural management practices to store SOC depends on C input level and how far a soil is from its saturation level (i.e. saturation deficit). The C Saturation hypothesis suggests an ultimate soil C stabilization capacity defined by
