Automatic Detection of Saturation and Clipping Idioms
2005The MMXTM technology and SSE/SSE2 (streaming-SIMD-extensions) introduced a variety of SIMD instructions that can exploit data parallelism in numerical and multimedia applications. In particular, new saturation and clipping instructions can boost the performance of applications that make extensive use of such operations.

New method of detection of current transformer saturation
11th IET International Conference on Developments in Power Systems Protection (DPSP 2012), 2012A new method for detection occurrences of CT saturation is presented in this paper. The presented algorithm applies only first order derivatives of signals which is possible it has been designed in a new innovative methodology in which phase current signals are considered as coordinates of a 3D vector.

Sleep Apnea Detection Using Oxygen Saturation During Nocturnal Sleep
2024 46th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC)The early detection and treatment of sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) is becoming an important issue in medical practice, as the conventional polysomnography-based method is not only costly, but also demands high expertise from technicians. In this study, we propose a method for diagnosing SAS using noninvasive measurements of oxygen saturation (SpO2 ...

Detection of Saturated Interflow in Soils with Piezometers
Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1968Abstract Piezometers were used as saturated interflow detection devices in a study of partial watershed contribution to storm runoff. Saturated interflow was detected along the AB‐horizon interface in clay loam soils with shallow A horizons.

Saturation filtering for noise and outlier detection
2001Instance selection is an important part of KDD process. It is aimed at finding a representative data subset that can replace the original dataset, still solving a data mining task as if the whole dataset were used. For most data mining task, including classification tasks, the selected dataset should preferably exclude noisy instances, aimed at ...

Two-step saturated fluorescence detection of atomic hydrogen in flames
Optics Letters, 1985We report a new variation on fluorescence detection, two-step saturated fluorescence spectroscopy, which can provide significant advantages over existing methods for detecting some atomic and molecular species. The method uses multiple-photon excitation of the selected atom or molecule, followed by saturated excitation of an optical transition from the

Cross-saturating sideband absorption: The limits of detectivity
AIP Conference Proceedings, 1986Cross‐saturating sideband absorption spectroscopy has been found to be the most sensitive spectroscopic technique, next to fluorescence detection. The minimum extinction determined by the particular absorber, is 5×10−8, which is 8 orders of magnitude lower than the estimated sensitivity of current measurements of two‐photon‐excited fluorescence from H ...

A Technique for Detecting Incomplete Saturation of Cores
Journal of Petroleum Technology, 1978Cores and core plugs are cleaned, dried, and saturated with brine or oil as part of many measuring procedures. The validity of the measurements depends directly on saturation being complete without any trace of residual gas in the core. Errors introduced by residual gas vary from about a square-root dependence for formation factor, through a linear ...
