Embedded Interactions and Selective Disclosure: Network Effects on Conversations aboard Skylab

open access: yesSymbolic Interaction, EarlyView.
How do absent others influence our interactions? We argue in this paper that interactions are embedded within networks formed by chains of specific relationships between known third parties. The anticipation of future interactions with external others conditions our interpretation of the current situation and affects our behavior in the interaction. We

Striking for a Just Transition? North American Auto Unions and the Electric Vehicle Transition

open access: yesIndustrial Relations: A Journal of Economy and Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Decarbonization heightens risks for workers, but union strategies shape how these risks are managed and whether new jobs offer quality employment. This paper compares U.S. and Canadian auto unions during the 2023 Detroit Three bargaining, focusing on strategic capacities and internal politics to explain their divergent responses to the EV ...

Decisions Under Radical Uncertainty: The Role of Volitional Liminality in Radical Innovation

open access: yesJournal of Product Innovation Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Academic Summary Radical innovation management can be understood as an organizational practice that enacts distant futures, which are open‐ended and unknowable. Such radical innovation endeavors are thus characterized by radical uncertainty, where possible futures are not only quantitatively but qualitatively different from the present, and ...

Did I have a dream last night? White dreaming as metacognitive feelings

open access: yesMind &Language, EarlyView.
While most research on sleep mentation focuses on dream reports, sleep experiences can also include reports lacking content, such as white dreaming—the feeling of knowing one dreamt but being unable to recall its contents. I claim that white dreaming is a metacognitive feeling, akin to tip‐of‐the‐tongue and déjà experiences.

Measurement of np analyzing power Aoono using the deuteron polarized beam of saturne II

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1987
Both the np and the pp analyzing powers were measured simultaneously using the SATURNE II polarized deuteron beam at 0.550, 0.725, 0.900 and 1.15 GeV/nucleon. The results for the pp analyzing power coincide with the free pp elastic scattering data. We thus can assume that also the np analyzing power is equal to the one for scattering of free polarized ...

Core electron temperature and density in the innermost Saturn's magnetosphere from HF power spectra analysis on Cassini [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 2013
We analyze the large‐scale structures of electrons in Saturn's inner magnetosphere equatorial plane, from 2.8 to about 10 Saturnian radii (RS). The electron total density and core temperature are obtained using the quasi‐thermal noise spectroscopy method, based on the HF power spectra measurements acquired with the Cassini/Radio and Plasma Wave Science

Applications of large‐scale artificial intelligence models in bioinformatics

open access: yesQuantitative Biology, Volume 14, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Large‐scale artificial intelligence (AI) models can mine potential patterns from massive amounts of data and provide more accurate analyses. This capability has enabled its gradual application in various areas of bioinformatics. However, few reviews have comprehensively summarized the applications of different types of large‐scale AI models in

Radio Pulse Power Distribution of Lightning in Jupiter's 2021–2022 Stealth Superstorms

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 7, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Surveys and observations of lightning on Jupiter prior to the NASA Juno mission used night‐side imaging approaches, and a common conclusion was that the optical energy was similar to the highest energy terrestrial lightning flashes, or superbolts.

Local Time Asymmetry in Energetic Electron Distribution Within Saturn's Inner Magnetosphere

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 6, 28 March 2026.
Abstract Electrons of several hundred keV in Saturn's ring current are important seed components of the radiation belt. In this study, we have statistically analyzed the spatial distribution of energetic electrons on the equatorial plane of the inner magnetosphere based on the Cassini in situ observations.
