Precipitation Characteristics of Warm Season Weather Types in the Southeastern United States of America

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2021
Daily weather types (WTs) over the Southeast United States have been analyzed using 850 hPa winds from reanalysis data from March to October of 1979–2019. Six WTs were obtained. WTs 1–3 represent mid-latitude synoptic systems propagating eastward. WT4 is

Carbono orgânico e estabilidade de agregados de um Latossolo Vermelho sob diferentes manejos Organic carbon and aggregate stability of a Red Latossol under different managements

Delaying the Inevitable? U.S. Screwworm Closures and Feeder Cattle Market Dynamics

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biosecurity trade restrictions are commonly framed as preventive measures, yet in many settings they function primarily as policies of delay: they impose immediate market costs while only postponing the arrival of biological risks. Single‐Step Analog In‐Memory Matrix Computation in Three‐Dimensional Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A wooden model illustrates a 3D memristive array designed for single‐step kernel convolutions. It shows how two‐dimensional input data are mapped into the 3D array and convolved in parallel with stored kernels. Color‐coded connection points represent programmed memory‐element values, with each color corresponding to a specific kernel weight.

Are there morpho‐acoustic patterns of adaptation in nonhuman primate ears? Testing the role of ecology and habitat in shaping ear morphology and function

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Analysis of the variation in the bony structures of the inner and middle ear provides critical insights into functional morphology, as well as adaptive morphology across primates. In this study, we investigated whether ear morphology patterns are related to the ecological characteristics of species and their habitats to test two acoustic ...
