Preparation of SBA-15 and Zr-SBA-15 materials by direct-synthesis and pH-adjustment methods

open access: yesMaterials Letters, 2021
SBA-15 mesoporous silica materials with zirconium atoms incorporated into its structure were prepared by two methods: direct-synthesis and pH-adjustment. Two nominal ratios of Zr/Si = 0 and 0.10 were evaluated. N2-physisorption, X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) and, X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) revealed that the morphology and structural order

Acetic acid hydroconversion over mono-and bimetallic indium doped catalysts supported on alumina and silicas of various textures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Consecutive hydroconversion of acetic acid (AA) to ethanol was compared over monometallic and novel bimetallic (containing In as guest metal) catalysts on alumina and silica supports (inter alia highly ordered SBA-15) of different porosity and pore ...

Role of Epoxide Functionalization of Amines for Development of Direct Air Capture Sorbents with High Cyclic Working Capacity at Low Desorption Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Appropriate butylene oxide (BO) functionalization of amines (polyethyleneimine (PEI1200 and PEI300) and tris(2‐aminoethyl)amine (TREN)) enables excellent cyclic working capacities (WCcyclic) at low desorption temperatures (40−70°C). Notably, 0.30BO‐PEI300‐SY and 0.54BO‐TREN‐SY show the highest WCcyclic at 45 and 40°C, respectively.

Scalable Engineering of Bio‐Manufactured Extracellular Vesicles for Selective Delivery in Ovarian Cancer Patient‐Derived Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered extracellular vesicles displaying Ephrin‐B2 selectively target Ephrin‐B4–expressing ovarian cancer cells, enabling precise delivery in patient‐derived models. This scalable bio‐manufacturing platform reveals a versatile strategy to exploit Ephrin signaling for highly specific therapeutic payload delivery and motivates exploration of tailored

The role of the coherence length for the establishment of global phase coherence in three-dimensional arrays of ultra-thin quasi-one-dimensional superconducting Pb and NbN nanowires

open access: yes, 2017
We have fabricated 5 nm ultra-thin NbN nanowires that form a dense and regular array in the linear channels of mesoporous SBA-15 silica substrates. Bulk NbN is a well-known classical superconductor with Tc of 16 K.

Comparison of silver nanoparticles confined in nanoporous silica prepared by chemical synthesis and by ultra-short pulsed laser ablation in liquid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Hexagonally ordered mesoporous silica materials MCM-41 and SBA-15 have been synthesized and loaded with Ag nanoparticles, utilizing both chemical synthesis and ultra-short pulsed laser ablation in liquid. In laser ablation, a silver target, immersed in

Biosynthesis of Sciadonic Acid Derived from Gymnosperms with Anti‐Colitis Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes an efficient Yarrowia lipolytica platform for unusual sciadonic acid (SCA) production and assess the anti‐colitis efficacy in mice of SCA, supporting its potential as a novel therapeutic lipid. ABSTRACT Sciadonic acid (SCA), Δ5‐unsaturated fatty acid with anti‐inflammatory and lipid‐regulatory properties, is predominantly derived

Molecular Clusters in Mesoporous Materials as Precursors to Nanoparticles of a New Lacunar Ternary Compound PdxMoyP [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Bimetallic clusters of composition Pd2Mo2(g5-C5H5)2(l3-CO)2(l2-CO)4 (PR3)2 (R = ethyl or phenyl) were incorporated by impregnation from solution into two different silica matrices, amorphous xerogels and ordered SBA-15, and a study of their thermal ...
