Fluid-rock interactions may differ in mesopores (2–50 nm diameter) compared to macropores (>50 nm diameter). This study evaluates the influence of nano-confinement and pore geometry on point of zero charge (PZC) and hence surface charge and adsorption.

Sustainable levulinic acid production from inulin via hydrothermal conversion
Abstract This study investigates the hydrothermal conversion of inulin using potassium pyrosulfate to levulinic acid (LA). The Box–Behnken design approach was applied to optimize the conversion parameters and analyze the interactions influencing LA yield.

SBA-16 mesoporous nanosilica: synthesis, characterization and sorption properties
Dyes are intensively used in industries such as textiles, plastics, cosmetics, etc., and they are considered major wastes. Due to their chemical structures, dyes are resistant on exposure to sun or water, therefore being difficult to be removed once released into the aquatic environment, having serious environmental impact.

A new perovskite‐type catalyst Nd0.9Mg0.1Fe0.4Ni0.6O3 was developed for methane dry reforming, which exhibited 93.1% CH4 and 94.7% CO2 conversion with 100 h stability run and excellent anti‐coking capability, benefited from in situ exsolved Fe‐Ni alloy nanoparticles. ABSTRACT Perovskite with high temperature stability and tunability is a very promising

Porous Carbon Materials for Carbon Dioxide Capture
This work aims to address the current status and challenges associated with the regulation of pore structures, as well as the influence of pore structures on CO2 capture. Systematic quantitative analysis of structure–property relationships, combined with machine learning approaches, can effectively evaluate the contributions of structural ...

Sulfur elimination by oxidative desulfurization with titanium-modified SBA-16
Abstract TiO2-modified mesoporous SBA-16 and titanium-substituted mesoporous SBA-16 were developed and tested in the oxidative desulfurization (ODS) of dibenzothiophene prevailing in liquid fuel. Pure TiO2 was used as reference. The titania-based catalysts were characterized by chemical analysis, XRD, EDX and TEM.
