A bit-loading algorithm in SC-FDE system
2006 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium, 2006In this paper, we propose a novel concept-sequenced optimal signal subspace, based on which a bit-loading algorithm in SC-FDE system is investigated. Compared with the bit-loading algorithm in OFDM system, the proposed algorithm here has more flexibility and lower complexity. Simulation results show that they have similar performance, so this algorithm

Comparison of error probability for OFDM and SC-FDE
The Thrity-Seventh Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems & Computers, 2003, 2004The purpose of this paper is to quantify the effects of frequency and timing offsets in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and single carrier systems and to compare their relative sensitivities. This is done in two ways. First, by simulation and second, by a numerical computation using a method first introduced by Beaulieu.

SC-FDE and OFDM in MISO Frequency-Selective Fading Channels
2020 30th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA), 2020This paper presents a new approach for evaluating the differences between SC-FDE and OFDM in MISO Clarke/Gans Rayleigh fading channel. At first, base-band models of SC and OFDM are elaborated and principles of STBC encoding and decoding are described in the MISO fading channel.

SC/FDE, OFDM and CDMA: A Simplified Approach
2006 European Conference on Wireless Technologies, 2006We apply code division multiple access CDMA to single carrier transmission with frequency domain equalization SCFDE. We use the Fourier spreading codes at the transmitter with length equal the number of users and across the active users. It leads to the cancellation of the despreading process together with the inverse fast Fourier transformation (IFFT)

Timing of the FFT-Window in SC/FDE Systems
2004In this work the positioning of the FFT-window in a single carrier system with frequency domain equalization (SC/FDE) is analyzed. Similar to OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing), SC/FDE systems are based on blockwise transmission and FFT processing, which enables channel equalization in the frequency domain with low complexity. Comparable

Physical layer security enhancement for cooperative SC-FDE systems
2016 8th International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP), 2016In this paper, a novel joint relay and destination selection scheme is proposed to enhance the secrecy performance in cooperative single carrier frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) systems with multiple relays and multiple destinations in the present of a group of eavesdroppers.

An efficient CP compensation for SC-FDE with insufficient CP symbols
IEEE Communications Letters, 2010In this letter, we propose a method to mitigate interferences for single carrier frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) with insufficient cyclic prefix (CP) symbols. The resultant channel matrices are not circulant due to some missing symbols. Unlike OFDM, however, the reconstruction of missing symbols using the estimated symbols is not effective.

Cooperative Frequency-Domain Beamforming for Broadband SC-FDE Systems
2011 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference - GLOBECOM 2011, 2011In this work, we investigate cooperative frequency-domain beamforming (FD-BF) for single-carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE) systems. In particular, we propose optimal and suboptimal FD-BF schemes for frequency-domain linear equalization (FD-LE) and an idealized matched filter receiver.

On the Compensation of IQ Imbalance in an SC/FDE System
2006Robust communication concepts and/or synchronization algorithms represent one of the most important aspects for high rate wireless communication systems. In this work efficient concepts and algorithms for the estimation and compensation of IQ imbalance are developed.

On OFDM and SC-FDE Transmissions in Millimeter Wave Channels with Beamforming
2016 IEEE 83rd Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2016The air interface for millimeter wave (mmWave) communications must be designed by properly taking into account the specific characteristics of the wireless channel at higher frequencies. In this work, we start by considering a channel model recently proposed in the literature for mmWave communications in outdoor urban scenarios.
