Instruction Re-Selection for Iterative Modulo Scheduling on High Performance Multi-Issue DSPs [PDF]
An iterative modulo scheduling is very important for compilers targeting high performance multi-issue digital signal processors. This is because these processors are often severely limited by idle state functional units and thus the reduced idle units ...

ABSTRACT Studies on adaptive capacity are especially important in ecosystems most vulnerable to rapid environmental change such as Arctic freshwater habitats. Most of the existing knowledge on adaptive capacity is focused on sexual organisms, while the adaptation potential of parthenogens as well as their vulnerability to environmental change remains ...

Altered Phenotypic Responses of Asexual Arctic Daphnia After 10 Years of Rapid Climate Change
Freshwater ecosystems in the Arctic are important sentinels for climate change, but not much is known about the potential for rapid adaptation of their asexually reproducing key zooplankton member. We compared thermal and hypoxia tolerance of resurrected dormant stages of Daphnia from an Arctic meromictic lake to that of their modern descendants.

More durable and eco‐friendly alternatives to concrete are needed to meet the growing global demand for this material. About 7% of all human‐caused CO2 emissions come from cement production. Integrating bacteria into concrete can prolong its lifespan, improve durability, and promote the sustainability of the concrete.

Far-and mid-infrared properties of carbon layers elaborated by plasma sputtering [PDF]
International audienceThe far-and mid-infrared reflectivity spectra of two carbon layers deposited on pure (100) silicon substrates by DC magnetron sputtering were investigated at room temperature in the 10-5000 cm-1 wavenumber range.
