In this chapter, the evaluation and architectures of the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems are discussed in detail. Subsequently, the remote terminal units and their functionality and, overall, the integration of such subsystems to the SCADA systems are discussed. The communications subsystems play an important role in the design

Ontology and protocol secure for SCADA
International Journal of Metadata, Semantics and Ontologies, 2014In this work, we present a semantic cyber security system and we study its semantic intelligent systems vulnerabilities, focusing on the semantic attacks. For resolving semantic problems we propose a security global solution for the new generation of SCADA systems.

SCADA Security: A New Concerning Issue of an In-house EGAT-SCADA
2005 IEEE/PES Transmission & Distribution Conference & Exposition: Asia and Pacific, 2005As being an in-house technology, the development of EGAT-SCADA was firstly focused on what it can do. It is developed for supervising the operation on electric power transmission system through out the country of Thailand. It will be installed on five regional control centers, several dozens of group control centers, and more than two hundred ...

SCADA systems play a vital role in the efficient operations of the ports’ Critical Infrastructures (CIs) and their Maritime Logistics and Supply Chain Services (MLoSC). In this paper we provide a process-centric modeling approach using BPMN 2.0 specification in order to visualize an attack likely to be detected on SCADA systems.

SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) systems allow users to monitor (using sensors) and control (using actuators) an industrial system remotely. Larger SCADA systems can support several 100,000 sensors, sending and storing hundreds of thousands of messages per second, generating large amounts of data.

SCADA: a critical vulnerability
Computer Fraud & Security, 2012Are we at risk of a system meltdown of Hollywood proportions? A recent presentation highlighting critical vulnerabilities in some of our most popular industrial control systems suggests so. Project Basecamp, a vulnerability assessment exercise carried out by security firm Digital Bond, assessed levels of security in Supervisory Control And Data ...

Abstract: SCADA ( Supervisory control and data acquisition) is a system which allows a control of remote industrial equipments, over a communication channel. These legacy communication channels were designed before the cyber space era,and hence they lack any security measures in their network which makes them vulnerable to any cyber attack.
