Actin dynamics controlled by IqgC, a RasGAP at the crossroads between the IQGAP and fungal GAP1 families

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IqgC is a RasGAP from Dictyostelium discoideum. IqgC binds RasG via its RasGAP domain and deactivates it on macroendocytic cups, thereby suppressing the uptake of fluid and particles. IqgC has a positive effect on cell‐substratum adhesion, and its RGCt domain is required for recruitment to ventral foci.

High LRIG1 expression predicts lymph node metastasis in patients with uterine cervical cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Lymph node status is crucial in determining treatment for women with early‐stage cervical cancer. We demonstrate that high LRIG1 protein expression in primary tumors can predict lymph node metastases. Our findings support further investigation of LRIG1 as a biomarker to improve staging accuracy and guide treatment decisions in cervical cancer patients.

A power-law inflation tail for the standard R2-inflation and the Trans-Planckian censorship conjecture

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
The conceptual problems of the standard slow-roll inflationary scenario include the Trans-Planckian Censorship Conjecture issue, which severely restricts the tensor-to-scalar ratio in the standard minimally coupled scalar field inflation.

Osmotic pressure‐induced calcium response states

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Acute hypotonic stress triggers distinct calcium response patterns in HEK293T cells. These signals originate from the endoplasmic reticulum via RyR2 and propagate to neighboring cells through gap junctions. This result highlights a novel calcium‐dependent mechanism underlying the intracellular and intercellular response to osmotic pressure.

Teaching Python with team‐based learning: using cloud‐based notebooks for interactive coding education

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel approach to teaching Python and bioinformatics using team‐based learning and cloud‐hosted notebooks. By integrating interactive coding into biomedical education, the method improves accessibility, student engagement, and confidence—especially for those without a computing background.

Field redefinition and renormalisability in scalar field theories

open access: yes, 2013
We have addressed the issue of field redefinition in connection with renormalisability. Our study is restricted to theories of interacting scalar fields.
