Integral and fractional equations, positive solutions, and Schaefer's fixed point theorem [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2016
This is the continuation of four earlier studies of a scalar fractional differential equation of Riemann-Liouville type \[D^qx(t) = -f(t,x(t)), \quad \lim_{t\to 0^+} t^{1-q} x(t) = x^0 \in\Re \quad (0 \lt q \lt 1), \tag {a}\] in which we first invert it ...

The scalar box integral and the Mellin - Barnes representation [PDF]

open access: yesInt.J.Mod.Phys.A26:2557-2568,2011, 2011
We solve exactly the scalar box integral using the Mellin-Barnes representation. Firstly we recognize the hypergeometric functions resumming the series coming from the scalar integrals, then we perform an analytic continuation before applying the Laurent expansion in^2 = (d !' 4)=2 of the result.

The Webster scalar curvature flow on CR sphere. Part II [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics (2015) pp. 836-905, 2014
This is the second of two papers, in which we study the problem of prescribing Webster scalar curvature on the CR sphere as a given function f. Using the Webster scalar curvature flow, we prove an existence result under suitable assumptions on the Morse indices of f.

Wheeler-DeWitt Quantization of Gravity Models of Unified Dark Energy and Dark Matter

open access: yes, 2017
First, we describe the construction of a new type of gravity-matter models based on the formalism of non-Riemannian space-time volume forms - alternative generally covariant integration measure densities (volume elements) defined in terms of auxiliary ...

Trans-Sasakian static spaces

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2021
Static spaces (with perfect fluids) appeared in a natural way both in physics (cf. Hawking and Ellis, 1975) and mathematics (cf. A. Fischer and J. Marsden, Duke Math. J. 42 (3) (1975), 519–547).

Irreversibility of World-sheet Renormalization Group Flow

open access: yes, 2005
We demonstrate the irreversibility of a wide class of world-sheet renormalization group (RG) flows to first order in $\alpha'$ in string theory. Our techniques draw on the mathematics of Ricci flows, adapted to asymptotically flat target manifolds.

Psychometric Properties of the Sources of Counseling Self Efficacy in a Sample of Malaysian Secondary School Counselors

open access: yesSAGE Open, 2020
Self-efficacy has been considered an essential mediator and predictor of individual counseling performance. As there is no existing scale to measure counseling self-efficacy in the counseling domain, the Sources of Middle School Mathematics Self-Efficacy

Generation of rotating solutions in Einstein-scalar gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We revisit the problem of the rotating generalization of the Fisher-Janis-Newman-Winicour solution of the minimal Einstein-scalar theory proving that the two previously proposed solutions do not satisfy the equations of motion. We also derive several new spinning solutions with the scalar charge, which are endowed with oblate deformation.

Learning mathematics with personal mobile devices in school: a multigroup invariance analysis of acceptance among students and teachers

open access: yesFrontiers in Education
Students’ use of personal mobile devices (PMDs), including smartphones, tablets, and laptops, in mathematics classrooms globally has become feasible due to the implementation of the bring your own device (BYOD) initiatives and policies in schools ...

Quasi-Particles in Non-Commutative Field Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
After a short introduction to the UV/IR mixing in non-commutative field theories we review the properties of scalar quasi-particles in non-commutative supersymmetric gauge theories at finite temperature.
