Construction of inflationary scenarios with the Gauss–Bonnet term and nonminimal coupling

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2021
Inflationary models with a scalar field nonminimally coupled both with the Ricci scalar and with the Gauss–Bonnet term are studied. We propose the way of generalization of inflationary scenarios with the Gauss–Bonnet term and a scalar field minimally ...

The Einstein-Vlasov system with a scalar field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We study the Einstein-Vlasov system coupled to a nonlinear scalar field with a nonnegative potential in locally spatially homogeneous spacetime, as an expanding cosmological model. It is shown that solutions of this system exist globally in time.

Potential--density pairs for spherical galaxies and bulges: the influence of scalar fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A family of potential--density pairs has been found for spherical halos and bulges of galaxies in the Newtonian limit of scalar--tensor theories of gravity.

Generalized Gaussian Effective Potential: Low Dimensional Scalar Fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We study a generalization of the Gaussian effective potential for self-interacting scalar fields in one and two spatial dimensions. We compute the two-loop corrections and discuss the renormalization of the generalized Gaussian effective potential ...

Endlessly flat scalar potentials and α -attractors

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2016
We consider a minimally-coupled inflationary theory with a general scalar potential $V(f( ))= V( \sum_{k=1}^{n} _k ^k)$ containing a stationary point of maximal order $m$. We show that asymptotically flat potentials can be associated to stationary points of infinite order and discuss the relation of our approach to the theory of $ $-attractors.

A note on membrane interactions and the scalar potential

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We compute the tree-level potential between two parallel p-branes due to the exchange of scalars, gravitons and (p+1)-forms. In the case of BPS membranes in 4d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 supergravity, this provides an interesting reinterpretation of the ...

Effect of Medium on Fundamental Interactions in Gravity and Condensed Matter

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
Recently, it was shown that the gravitational field undergoes exponential cutoff at large cosmological scales due to the presence of background matter. In this article, we demonstrate that there is a close mathematical analogy between this effect and the

On the Neutral Scalar Sector of the General R-parity Violating MSSM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Starting out from the most general, gauge invariant and renormalizable scalar potential of the R-parity violating MSSM and performing a calculable rotation to the scalar fields we arrive at a basis where the sneutrino VEVs are zero.

Scalar hairy black holes and solitons in asymptotically flat spacetimes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A numerical analysis shows that a class of scalar-tensor theories of gravity with a scalar field minimally and nonminimally coupled to the curvature allows static and spherically symmetric black hole solutions with scalar-field hair in asymptotically ...

Scalar cosmology with multi-exponential potentials [PDF]

open access: yesClassical and Quantum Gravity, 2005
We investigate cosmologies with an arbitrary number of scalars and the most general multi-exponential potential. By formulating the equations of motion in terms of autonomous systems we complete the classification of power-law and de Sitter solutions as critical points, e.g. attractor and repeller solutions, in terms of the scalar couplings.
