Scale Invariant Feature Transform with Irregular Orientation Histogram Binning
2009The SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) descriptor is a widely used method for matching image features. However, perfect scale invariance can not be achieved in practice because of sampling artefacts, noise in the image data, and the fact that the computational effort limits the number of analyzed scale space images.

Utilization of scale invariant feature transform in rover vision system
2010 2nd International Conference on Computer Engineering and Technology, 2010this paper introduces the background of planet rover navigation and discussing the main purpose of the algorithms for the vision system of autonomous guidance system. Some critical criterion of scale invariant feature transform is presented. Methods of improving the results of the transform are applied in the final application.

A Parallel Analysis on Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) Algorithm [PDF]
With explosive growth of multimedia data on internet, the effective information retrieval from a large scale of multimedia data becomes more and more important. To retrieve these multimedia data automatically, some features in them must be extracted. Hence, image feature extraction algorithms have been a fundamental component of multimedia retrieval ...

Robust vehicle tracking based on Scale Invariant Feature Transform
2008 International Conference on Information and Automation, 2008Vehicle tracking is a challenging problem in Intelligent Transport System. This paper presents a vehicle tracking approach combining blob based tracking and feature based tracking. First objects are detected as blobs using codebook(CB) algorithm and scale invariant feature transform(SIFT) features are extracted from the blobs. Then vehicles are tracked

The Improved Algorithm of Scale Invariant Feature Transform on Palmprint Recognition
Advanced Materials Research, 2011This paper presents a new method of palmprint recognition based on improved scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) algorithm which combines the Euclidean distance and weighted sub-region. It has the scale, rotation, affine, perspective, illumination invariance, and also has good robustness to the target's motion, occlusion, noise and other factors ...

A robust forensic method based on Scale-Invariance Feature Transform
2011 International Conference on Multimedia Technology, 2011Nowadays, the digital forensic techniques for digital images are developed with the origin identification and integrity verification functions for security reasons. Currently, most developed methods are based on the idea of extracting high frequency noise as the feature for investigating purpose.
