Scale variant vehicle object recognition by CNN module of multi-pooling-PCA process
The moving vehicles present different scales in the image due to the perspective effect of different viewpoint distances. The premise of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) system for safety surveillance and safe driving is early identification of ...

More effective image matching with scale invariant feature transform [PDF]
Feature matching is based on finding reliable corresponding points in the images. This requires to solve a twofold problem: detecting repeatable feature points and describing them as distinctive as possible. SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) has been proven to be the most reliable solution to this problem.

A novel method for tracking structural changes in gels using widely accessible microcomputed tomography is presented and validated for various hydro‐, alco‐, and aerogels. The core idea of the method is to track positions of micrometer‐sized tracer particles entrapped in the gel and relate them to the density of the gel network.

Hausdorff-Distance Enhanced Matching of Scale Invariant Feature Transform Descriptors in Context of Image Querying [PDF]
Reliable and effective matching of visual descriptors is a key step for many vision applications, e.g. image retrieval. In this paper, we propose to integrate the Hausdorff distance matching together with our pairing algorithm, in order to obtain a ...

$n$-SIFT: $n$-Dimensional Scale Invariant Feature Transform [PDF]
We propose the n-dimensional scale invariant feature transform (n-SIFT) method for extracting and matching salient features from scalar images of arbitrary dimensionality, and compare this method's performance to other related features. The proposed features extend the concepts used for 2-D scalar images in the computer vision SIFT technique for ...

Model-independent phenotyping of C. elegans locomotion using scale-invariant feature transform. [PDF]
To uncover the genetic basis of behavioral traits in the model organism C. elegans, a common strategy is to study locomotion defects in mutants. Despite efforts to introduce (semi-)automated phenotyping strategies, current methods overwhelmingly depend ...

Spectral-Spatial Scale Invariant Feature Transform for Hyperspectral Images [PDF]
Spectral-spatial feature extraction is an important task in hyperspectral image processing. In this paper we propose a novel method to extract distinctive invariant features from hyperspectral images for registration of hyperspectral images with different spectral conditions.
