Differences in sensor types, resolutions, and imaging conditions can lead to considerable spectral differences in heterogeneous optical remote sensing images and the similarity of scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) or local self-similarities (LSS ...

Texture classification using invariant ranklet features [PDF]
A novel invariant texture classification method is proposed. Invariance to linear/non-linear monotonic gray-scale transformations is achieved by submitting the image under study to the ranklet transform, an image processing technique relying on the ...

A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

Robust image hashing using SIFT feature points and DWT approximation coefficients
This study proposes a robust hashing method using scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) features points and discrete wavelet transform (DWT) approximation coefficients for image authentication.

A Local Feature Descriptor Based on SIFT for 3D Pollen Image Recognition
Biological particle automatic classification is an important issue in index tasking for people with pollen hypersensitivity. This paper attempts to present a local feature extraction method based on SIFT for automatic 3D pollen image recognition.

Rotation and Scale Invariant Texture Classification [PDF]
Texture classification is very important in image analysis. Content based image retrieval, inspection of surfaces, object recognition by texture, document segmentation are few examples where texture classification plays a major role.

Hexagonal scale invariant feature transform (H-SIFT) for facial feature extraction
AbstractFeature transformation and key-point identifi is the solution to many local feature descriptors. One among such descriptor is the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT). A small effort has been made for designing a hexagonal sampled SIFT feature descriptor with its applicability in face recognition tasks. Instead of using SIFT on square image

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

RST Resilient Watermarking Scheme Based on DWT-SVD and Scale-Invariant Feature Transform
Currently, most digital image watermarking schemes are affected by geometric attacks like rotation, scaling, and translation (RST). In the watermark embedding process, a robust watermarking scheme is proposed against RST attacks.
