The claustrophobia scale: a psychometric evaluation
Behaviour Research and Therapy, 2007This article presents a psychometric evaluation of the Claustrophobia Scale (CS), consisting of one subscale for measuring anxiety (20 items, 0-4) and one for avoidance (18 items, 0-2). Participants were 87 claustrophobic patients and 200 normal controls randomly selected from the community.

SCALING ISSUES IN FACULTY EVALUATIONS
Psychological Reports, 1999148 students were asked to evaluate particular survey questions with scales that varied in number of scale points, type of labeling, and labeling of anchors only vs all scale points. No significant difference was found between variations on 4-and 5-point scales, so these data were collapsed.

A scale for the evaluation of psychological distress
Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1977A state measure of psychological distress (DI) was developed from the MMPI item pool. The DI scale was found to be reliable (internally consistent and stable) and to be unaffected by social desirability. MMPI measures of stress and anxiety measure external to the MMPI were found to correlate well with the DI scale.

Abstract A proposed method of analyzing scaling systems consists of two parts. Part I applies only to sound logs and compares the precision of scaling systems using the relationship between lumber recovery and scaled volume. Part II uses only defective logs to compare the abilities of scaling systems to adjust volume for defect.
