GDSNet: A gated dual-stream convolutional neural network for automatic recognition of coseismic landslides

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation
Automatic recognition of numerous coseismic landslides after a violent earthquake is crucial for emergency rescue and post-disaster reconstruction. Currently, deep learning techniques have achieved state-of-the-art performance in coseismic landslide ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Measuring parental dimensions: A psychometric evaluation of the parents as social context questionnaire, Swedish version

open access: yesCogent Psychology, 2020
The relationship between a parent and an adolescent is dynamic. A parent may do better in certain areas or during certain phases of the adolescent’s life, and the adolescent’s needs or demands on the parent may vary accordingly.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Basic construction of the flat angle calibration test bench for geodetic instruments

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography, 2012
In our days precise geodetic instruments are very widely used in geodesy, building structures, surveying, machine engineering etc. Many of those instruments are based on precise measurement of the directions differences (ie measurement of angles).
