Hermite-Hadamard Type Inequalities for the Class of Convex Functions on Time Scale

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
We investigate a time scale version of two auxiliary functions for the class of convex functions. We derive several novel dynamic inequalities for these classes of convex functions.

Development and Psychometric Evaluation of the Adaptive Functions of Music Listening Scale

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2018
Music listening may serve many adaptive functions in everyday life. However, studies examining the relationship between the functions of music listening (FML) and wellbeing outcomes have produced mixed findings.

Sensing the multi-scale landscape functions heterogeneity by big geodata from parcel to urban agglomerations-a case of the Greater Bay Area, China

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth
Multi-scale landscape functions play a critical role in revealing intricate functional structures within large regions. However, previous studies on landscape functions have predominantly focused on a single macro or micro scale, impeding a holistic ...

Integrals Involving Product of Polynomials and Daubechies Scale Functions [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics Interdisciplinary Research, 2021
In this paper, we will introduce an algorithm for obtaining integrals of the form ∫x0 tm φ(t)dt, m ∈ N ∪ {0}, where φ is the scaling functions of Daubechies wavelet.

An ε-Approximate Approach for Solving Variable-Order Fractional Differential Equations

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2023
As a mathematical tool, variable-order (VO) fractional calculus (FC) was developed rapidly in the engineering field due to it better describing the anomalous diffusion problems in engineering; thus, the research of the solutions of VO fractional ...

Equity Cost Induced Dichotomy for Optimal Dividends with Capital Injections in the Cramér-Lundberg Model

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
We investigate a control problem leading to the optimal payment of dividends in a Cramér-Lundberg-type insurance model in which capital injections incur proportional cost, and may be used or not, the latter resulting in bankruptcy. For general claims, we

The W, Z scale functions kit for first passage problems of spectrally negative Lévy processes, and applications to control problems [PDF]

open access: yesE S A I M: Probability & Statistics, 2017
In the last years there appeared a great variety of identities for first passage problems of spectrally negative Lévy processes, which can all be expressed in terms of two “q-harmonic functions” (or scale functions) W and Z.

Scaling of radial basis functions

open access: yesIMA Journal of Numerical Analysis, 2023
Abstract This paper studies the influence of scaling on the behavior of radial basis function interpolation. It focuses on certain central aspects, but does not try to be exhaustive. The most important questions are: How does the error of a kernel-based interpolant vary with the scale of the kernel chosen?
