Time Scale Inequalities of the Ostrowski Type for Functions Differentiable on the Coordinates

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2018
In 2016, some inequalities of the Ostrowski type for functions (of two variables) differentiable on the coordinates were established. In this paper, we extend these results to an arbitrary time scale by means of a parameter λ∈0,1.

Optimal Local Multi-scale Basis Functions for Linear Elliptic Equations with Rough Coefficient [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper addresses a multi-scale finite element method for second order linear elliptic equations with arbitrarily rough coefficient. We propose a local oversampling method to construct basis functions that have optimal local approximation property ...

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Sensing the multi-scale landscape functions heterogeneity by big geodata from parcel to urban agglomerations-a case of the Greater Bay Area, China

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth
Multi-scale landscape functions play a critical role in revealing intricate functional structures within large regions. However, previous studies on landscape functions have predominantly focused on a single macro or micro scale, impeding a holistic ...

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Longitudinal trial functions and the cosmic ray energy scale [PDF]

open access: yes
Formulae which were proposed to represent the longitudinal profiles of cosmic ray air showers are compared, and the physical interpretation of their parameters is examined. Applications to the problem of energy calibration are pointed out.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Scaling Quasi-Periodic Psychological Functions

open access: yesBehaviormetrika, 2002
The entropic analog of the Schwarzian derivative (ESf) is used to explore the consequences of scaling and partitioning operations on time series that are known to be edge-of-chaos, or random. The nonlinear deterministic series may be fractal trajectories, and if so self-similarity may be a property that characterises their evolution.
