Generalized additive models for location, scale and shape
Summary. A general class of statistical models for a univariate response variable is presented which we call the generalized additive model for location, scale and shape (GAMLSS).

Uniform asymptotics for robust location estimates when the scale is unknown [PDF]
Most asymptotic results for robust estimates rely on regularity conditions that are difficult to verify and that real data sets rarely satisfy. Moreover, these results apply to fixed distribution functions.

Three-dimensional mapping of soil organic matter content using soil type-specific depth functions
This paper proposes a method for mapping depth functions of soil organic matter (SOM) that combines general pedological knowledge with geostatistical modeling.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

A symmetric nodal conservative finite element method for the Darcy equation
This work introduces and analyzes novel stable Petrov-Galerkin EnrichedMethods (PGEM) for the Darcy problem based on the simplest but unstable continuous P1/P0 pair.

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Economies of Scale in the Tunisian Industries [PDF]
To date, empirical investigations of trade liberalization under the conditions of increasing returns to scale (IRS) and imperfect competition (IC) have either assumed or imposed the market and productive structures necessary for such a model. However, of

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Time Scale Inequalities of the Ostrowski Type for Functions Differentiable on the Coordinates
In 2016, some inequalities of the Ostrowski type for functions (of two variables) differentiable on the coordinates were established. In this paper, we extend these results to an arbitrary time scale by means of a parameter λ∈0,1.

Perspective functions with nonlinear scaling
The classical perspective of a function is a construction which transforms a convex function into one that is jointly convex with respect to an auxiliary scaling variable. Motivated by applications in several areas of applied analysis, we investigate an extension of this construct in which the scaling variable is replaced by a nonlinear term.
