Scaling of radial basis functions
Abstract This paper studies the influence of scaling on the behavior of radial basis function interpolation. It focuses on certain central aspects, but does not try to be exhaustive. The most important questions are: How does the error of a kernel-based interpolant vary with the scale of the kernel chosen?

Surface Pencil Couple with Bertrand Couple as Joint Principal Curves in Galilean 3-Space
A principal curve on a surface plays a paramount role in reasonable implementations. A curve on a surface is a principal curve if its tangents are principal directions.

First passage problems for upwards skip-free random walks via the $\Phi,W,Z$ paradigm [PDF]
We develop the theory of the $W$ and $Z$ scale functions for right-continuous (upwards skip-free) discrete-time discrete-space random walks, along the lines of the analogue theory for spectrally negative L\'evy processes.

New discrete inequalities of Hermite–Hadamard type for convex functions
We introduce new time scales on Z $\mathbb{Z}$ . Based on this, we investigate the discrete inequality of Hermite–Hadamard type for discrete convex functions.

Multi-scale Renormalization [PDF]
The Standard MS renormalization prescription is inadequate for dealing with multi-scale problems. To illustrate this we consider the computation of the effective potential in the Higgs-Yukawa model.

Multi-scale Correlation Functions in Strong Turbulence
Under the framework of V. Yakhot [Phys.Rev.E, {\bf57}, 1737 (1998)] modelling of intermittent structure functions in fully developed turbulence and based on the experimentally supported Markovian nature of turbulence cascades [R.Friedrich and J.Peinke ...

Evolution of Small Scale Cosmological Baryon Perturbations and Matter Transfer Functions [PDF]
The evolution of small scale cosmological perturbations is carefully re-examined. Through the interaction with photons via electrons, baryon perturbations show interesting behavior in some physical scales.
