Synthesis of New Phosphate and the Evaluation as Scale Inhibitor in Oilfield
Key Engineering Materials, 2019Compared with inorganic phosphonates, organic phosphonates have better chemical stability in water treatment, and are not easy to hydrolyze in higher temperature and wider pH range.

New Method for Scale Inhibitor Testing
SPE International Symposium on Oilfield Chemistry, 2009Abstract During qualification of scale inhibitors for the Ormen Lange project, it was discovered that the dynamic tube blocking (DTB) test could not simulate the scaling conditions good enough for gas/condensate subsea fields which will be using pH stabilised MEG for hydrate control.

Scale Inhibitors for Geothermal Applications
SPE International Conference on Oilfield Scale, 2012AbstractSiliceous scaling deposition from geothermal brine is recognized as detrimental to the smooth operation of steam generation and injection facilities; the control of such deposition is costy and less well understood. Scales normally encountered in geothermal wells are often different from the conventional cases.

An Evaluation of Scale Inhibitors
Journal of Petroleum Technology, 1972A rating of inhibitors in the order of their effectiveness is a relative matter and depends upon test conditions. The most important conditions are the degree of supersaturation and the temperature; the higher the supersaturation and the higher the temperature the less effective a scale inhibitor becomes.

Acrolein Based Polymers as Scale Inhibitors
CORROSION 1998, 1998Abstract Polymers are widely used to prevent scaling in various applications. Whilst acrylic acid and maleic acid are often used for homo and copolymers, acrolein is unique as a monomer for polymeric scale inhibitors. The polymerization can be carried out by using hydrogen peroxide as a polymerization initiator.
