Hypothetical Control of Heart Rate Variability
In the last three decades, the analysis of heart rate variability by nonlinear methods demonstrated the complexity of cardiovascular regulation. Additionally to the observations of periodic heart rate regulation by the autonomic nervous system, the long ...

Tunable and Recyclable Piezoelectric Biomaterials via Ion‐Directed Guanine‐Quadruplex Assembly
Guanine‐quadruplex (GQ) assemblies, formed via ion‐mediated self‐assembly of amphiphilic guanine derivatives, are introduced as tunable and recyclable piezoelectric biomaterials. Distinct alkali ions induce unique dipole configurations and piezoelectric outputs, with K⁺ yielding the highest performance.

Microsphere Autolithography—A Scalable Approach for Arbitrary Patterning of Dielectric Spheres
MicroSphere Autolithography (µSAL) enables scalable fabrication of patchy particles with customizable surface motifs. Focusing light through dielectric microspheres creates well defined, tunable patches via a conformal poly(dopamine) photoresist. Nearly arbitrary surface patterns can be achieved, with the resolution set by the index contrast between ...

An advanced F‐doped and ─CN group co‐modified FCCN is developed. Due to the synergistic effects of co‐modification in promoting photogenerated exciton generation, enhancing charge kinetics, expanding active interfacial areas, and optimizing CO2 interfacial reactions, the FCCN photocatalyst demonstrates excellent catalytic performance and high ...

Assessing and Interpreting the Within-Body Biogeography of Human Microbiome Diversity
A human body hosts a relatively independent microbiome including five major regional biomes (i.e., airway, oral, gut, skin, and urogenital). Each of them may possess different regional characteristics with important implications to our health and ...

Multiple Twinning in Nacre and Aragonite
Electron backscatter diffraction map of a cluster of geologic aragonite, exhibiting single, double, and triple twins. The whole cluster is approximately 2 cm wide. Colors indicate crystal orientations, so that pixels where the a‐, b‐, and c‐axis is perpendicular to the image plane are green, red, and blue, respectively.

4D Mapping of ZIF Biocomposites for High Protein Loading and Tunable Release Profiles
Systematic four‐dimensional mapping of zeolitic imidazolate framework biocomposites reveals how precursor ratios, total concentration, and washing define crystalline phase, protein loading, and release kinetics. This comprehensive study identifies conditions yielding record loading (∼85%) and precise phase–property correlations.
