Three-dimensional pose estimation model for object with complex surface

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2015
The proposed three-dimensional pose estimation model for object with complex surface, which primarily absorbs the essence of scale-invariant feature transform and iterative closest point algorithm, includes two steps, off-line and online.

IMPROVING SIFT FOR IMAGE FEATURE EXTRACTION

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai: Series Informatica, 2017
This paper reviews a classical image feature extraction algorithm, namely SIFT (i.e. Scale Invariant Feature Transform) and modifies it in order to increase its repeatability score.

On the use of SIFT features for face authentication [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Several pattern recognition and classification techniques have been applied to the biometrics domain. Among them, an interesting technique is the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT), originally devised for object recognition.

Gender Recognition Based on Sift Features

open access: yes, 2011
This paper proposes a robust approach for face detection and gender classification in color images. Previous researches about gender recognition suppose an expensive computational and time-consuming pre-processing step in order to alignment in which face

SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform)

open access: yes, 2016

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Localization and recognition of the scoreboard in sports video based on SIFT point matching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In broadcast sports video, the scoreboard is attached at a fixed location in the video and generally the scoreboard always exists in all video frames in order to help viewers to understand the match’s progression quickly.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Multiscale registration of remote sensing image using robust SIFT features in Steerable-Domain

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, 2011
This paper proposes a multiscale registration technique using robust Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) features in Steerable-Domain, which can deal with the large variations of scale, rotation and illumination between images.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
