Determination of scale parameters on anisotropic lattices
Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1988Abstract We present results for the ratio of lattice spacings, ξ = a a τ , and the ratio of Λ-parameters, Λ ξ Λ 1 , anisotropic lattices with different couplings in spatial and temporal directions.

Wafer-Scale Photonic Parameter Extraction
CLEO 2024Wafer-scale variation of waveguide dimensions and refractive index determine the fabrication yield and design tolerances of photonic integrated circuits. We describe a technique to accurately measure the statistical properties of these parameters for dielectric waveguides.

Invariant parameters of measurement scales
British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, 1998Parameter functions are functions of scales. We define the absolute invariance, reference invariance and comparison invariance of parameter functions, and derive some properties of and methods of constructing invariant parameter functions. The results are discussed in relation to the invariance of statistical parameters.

Scaling behaviour of physical parameters describing agglomerates
Journal of Aerosol Science, 1990Abstract Scaling relations for mass, surface and radius of fractal-like agglomerated particles are derived, and partly corroborated experimentally. Mass corresponds to the number of primary particles forming an agglomerate. The surface measure is the attachment coefficient for neutral molecules or atoms to aerosol particles as measured with the ...

Λ Minimax Estimation of a Scale Parameter
Journal of the American Statistical Association, 1972Abstract This note illustrates the application of the Λ-minimax principle (see, e.g., [6, Sect. 6.6]) to the estimation of a scale parameter. In particular, σ Λ-minimax estimator of the variance of a normal distribution is obtained when Λ is a subset of the class of natural conjugate prior distributions.

On the Simultaneous Estimation of Scale Parameters
Canadian Journal of Statistics, 1988This note is an extension of \textit{A. DasGupta}'s results [Ann. Stat. 14, 206-219 (1986; Zbl 0602.62011)] on the estimation of multiparameter gamma distributions. Consider p(p\(\geq 2)\) independent positive random variables with possibly different scale-parameter densities.
