Interacting factors of strain ratio values in fibroadenomas and the contribution of color scale
Background: The purpose of this retrospective study is to investigate the association of qualitative and semiquantitative strain elastography (SE) features with factors such as lesion size, skin-to-lesion distance, and patient's age in fibroadenomas and ...

Psychology of ustoychivost': numerical scale for assessing human’s ustoychivost' according to the golden ratio rule [PDF]
Exploring man, the modern psychology of Europe and America began to actively apply the concepts stability and/or resistance that, in Russia psychology, are combined into one concept — ustoychivost’.

Scale-Dependent Bias of Galaxies from Baryonic Acoustic Oscillations [PDF]
Baryonic acoustic oscillations (BAOs) modulate the density ratio of baryons to dark matter across large regions of the Universe. We show that the associated variation in the mass-to-light ratio of galaxies should generate an oscillatory, scale-dependent ...

On the Scaling Ratios for Siegel Disks [PDF]
The boundary of the Siegel disk of a quadratic polynomial with an irrationally indifferent fixed point and the rotation number whose continued fraction expansion is preperiodic has been observed to be self-similar with a certain scaling ratio. The restriction of the dynamics of the quadratic polynomial to the boundary of the Siegel disk is known to be ...

Universal scaling of higher-order spacing ratios in Gaussian random matrices [PDF]
Higher-order spacing ratios are investigated analytically using a Wigner-like surmise for Gaussian ensembles of random matrices. For $k$-th order spacing ratio $(r^{(k)}$, $k>1)$ the matrix of dimension $2k+1$ is considered. A universal scaling relation for this ratio, known from earlier numerical studies, is proved in the asymptotic limits of $r^{(k)}\

Gender differences in loudness perception may be linguistically influenced
Previous studies have reported gender differences in loudness perception. To clarify factors that affect loudness perception of men and women, so that differences in their processing of auditory stimuli might be revealed, we conducted four experiments ...

Large-to small-scale dynamo in domains of large aspect ratio: kinematic regime [PDF]
The Sun’s magnetic field exhibits coherence in space and time on much larger scales than the turbulent convection that ultimately powers the dynamo. In this work, we look for numerical evidence of a large-scale magnetic field as the magnetic Reynolds ...

Modeling the plasmasphere to topside ionosphere scale height ratio
A new model of plasmasphere to topside ionosphere scale heights ratio is developed, based on topside electron density (Ne) profiles deduced from the International Satellites for Ionospheric Studies (ISIS)-1 satellite measurements.

Invariant foreground occupation ratio for scale adaptive mean shift tracking
The mean shift algorithm has been introduced successfully into the field of computer vision to be an efficient approach for visual tracking but the tracker has been awkward in handling the scale change of the object.
