Phospho-dependent modulation of potassium chloride co-transporter KCC2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The neuronal-specific potassium chloride co-transporter 2, KCC2, is a major chloride extruder in brain. The expression of KCC2 during neuronal development is fundamental to the switch of GABAergic response from excitatory to inhibitory. Malfunction of

Separating Hydrogen Evolution From Electroplating in Zn Metal Batteries Using Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Operando SECM decouples hydrogen evolution from other degradation pathways in Zn metal batteries by quantifying its contribution during Zn electrodeposition. Although HER is shown to account for only a minor fraction of the irreversible charge loss, it remains a key indicator of interfacial evolution and by‐product formation governing cycling ...

Dopant‐Tailored Matrices: A Crystal Engineering Strategy for Organic Room‐Temperature Phosphorescent Host–Guest Systems and Beyond

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Rather than selecting dopants to match a pre‐existing host matrix, the dopant‐tailored matrix strategy involves rational engineering of host matrices around a preselected class of dopants by targeting matrix packing motifs that promote synergistic host‐dopant interactions upon doping.

Water‐Mediated Proton Facilitation for Stable Acidic CO2 Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Proton‐mitigating Cu─O─Ce sites accelerate *CO formation and PCET‐mediated *CO─*CHO coupling, enabling efficient multicarbon production at relatively low current density. Maintaining a retentive acidic pH suppresses parasitic hydrogen evolution and preserves in situ CO2 availability for carbon‐efficient acidic CO2 reduction.

Pathway Complexity Defines the Shape of Nucleic Acid‐Loaded Polyion Complex Micelles: Spheroids vs. Hexagonal Disks

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Same building blocks, different destinies. Pathway complexity directs nucleic acid–loaded polyion complex micelles along distinct assembly trajectories, resulting in either hexagonally shaped or spheroidal nanoparticles with distinct internal structuring.

Scandium-doped AlN 1D hexagonal nanoprisms : a class of room-temperature ferromagnetic materials

open access: yes, 2010
Pretty vacancy: The formation energy of Al vacancies in aluminum nitride is decreased by doping with nonmagnetic scandium ions. These vacancies are shown to be the cause of the room-temperature ferromagnetism in the resulting 1D hexagonal nanoprisms of ...

The kinetics of the dissolution of chalcopyrite in chloride media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
One of the most important outstanding problems with the hydrometallurgy of copper is the low temperature leaching of chalcopyrite. In this thesis, a fundamental study at low temperature was undertaken in order to establish a mechanism, which is ...

Printed Wearable Sweat Rate Sensor for Continuous In Situ Perspiration Measurement

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
A wireless wearable sweat rate sensor system is presented, featuring digital 3D direct‐write printing on a flexible substrate with microfluidic layers for continuous, real‐time monitoring. Printed encapsulated metal electrodes are used for capacitance measurements, achieving high sensitivity (0.01 μL min−1) while maintaining a compact and lightweight ...
