High-resolution imaging in acoustic microscopy using deep learning

open access: yesMachine Learning: Science and Technology
Acoustic microscopy is a cutting-edge label-free imaging technology that allows us to see the surface and interior structure of industrial and biological materials. The acoustic image is created by focusing high-frequency acoustic waves on the object and

Simultaneous scanning optical and acoustic microscopy

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1983
We have demonstrated a combined scanning acoustic and optical microscope capable of simultaneously recording acoustic and optical images of the same field of view. The estimated resolution of the optical (6328 A) and acoustic (550 MHz) images is 2 ?m, in good agreement with theory. The system is ideally suited to photoacoustic microscopy.

LLM‐Integrated Human–Robot Interaction System for Microrobots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This paper proposes an LLM‐based control framework for guiding microrobots using human natural language. This framework can convert the natural human speech into safe and executable command sets for reliable navigation in complex environments. The experimental results show high accuracy and robustness in task performance, demonstrating the potential of

Evaluation of structural defects in brazed ceramic-to-metal joints with C-mode scanning acoustic microscopy

open access: yes, 1991
Structural defects and the integrity of brazed aluminium nitride-to-metal joints were studied by using C-mode scanning acoustic microscopy. Lack of bonding, cracks at the nitride/braze interface and surface opening cracks were clearly detected.

Scanning acoustic microscopy in materials characterization

open access: yesNDT International, 1990
The scanning acoustic microscopy is a powerful tool for subsurface imaging and therefore fault detection in coated parts. In this paper several methods are established to reveal the imaging of hidden structures.

Multiphoton‐Printed Microrobotic Arrays Powered by Discrete, Monolithically Integrated Hydrogel Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Functional surfaces are investigated as a foundation for reconfigurable microscale systems with sensing and actuation capabilities. Advances in additive manufacturing enable our development of planar arrays of hybrid‐material, compliant microdevices that convert environmental stimuli into programmed motion and visual responses.

Segmenting hydrogen‐induced cracking defects in steel through scanning acoustic microscopy and deep neural networks

open access: yesEngineering Reports
Hydrogen‐induced cracking (HIC) presents a significant concern in industries, such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, and aerospace, where high‐strength steel is prevalently used.

Methods of studying structure and properties of rocks using samples (short review)

open access: yesГорные науки и технологии, 2018
Some non-destructive methods for internal rock structures control are described, and examples of their use are given. Examples of the application of X-ray and neural tomography, scanning electron and acoustic microscopy are also presented.
