Contribution of the Refractive Index Fluctuations to the Length Noise in Displacement Interferometry
We report on investigations of how fast changes of the refractive index influence the uncertainty of interferometric displacement measurements. Measurement of position within a limited range is typical for precise positioning of coordinate measuring ...

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Methionine Regulates Antitumour Function of CD8+ T Cells Through Polyamine Synthesis
Methionine restriction in vitro enhances CD8+ T cell effector function by suppressing polyamine synthesis and progressively induces the co‐expression of PD‐1 and TIM‐3. Consistently, sustained dietary methionine restriction diminishes the efficacy of adoptive T cell therapy (ACT) and promotes the expression of terminal exhaustion‐associated markers ...

40 years of measuring properties with atomic force microscopy
Abstract This paper gives a short personal retrospective of some of the AFM methods developed in the Grutter group. It gives an overview of methods developed with the aim of measuring properties with high spatial and temporal resolution. Frequency mode AFM has over the past 40 years developed into a spatially resolving technique allowing spectroscopy ...

Monte Carlo method in optical atomic force microscopy
Scanning probe microscopy(SPM) is a branch of microscopy that forms images of surfaces using a physical probe that scans the specimen. Atomic force microscopy is one of the SPM family which is considered as a very versatile tool for surface imaging and ...

A model of the C‐repeat binding factor–salicylic acid (CBF–SA) module in plant wound healing. Summary Repairing damaged tissues is essential for the survival of all organisms. In plants, tissue injury rapidly triggers defense and repair programs. However, the molecular mechanisms linking early injury cues to the later stage of wound repair remain ...

Perivascular Spaces as Determinants of Amyloid, Tau, and Vascular Biomarker Progression
Objective Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)‐visible enlarged perivascular spaces (PVS) are markers of cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) and aging, processes implicated in both neurodegenerative and cerebrovascular pathologies. However, longitudinal positron emission tomography (PET) studies examining PVS as a mechanism underlying Alzheimer's disease ...
