Bone Grafting for Scaphoid Nonunions: Is Free Vascularized Bone Grafting Superior for Scaphoid Nonunion? [PDF]
Background: Nonvascularized bone grafting (NVBG) and vascularized bone grafts (VBGs) have been used to treat scaphoid nonunions. A comparison of a single institution’ s experience using structural iliac crest bone graft (ICBG), 1,2-intercompartmental supraretinacular artery (1,2-ICSRA), and medial femoral condyle (MFC) grafts to treat scaphoid ...

A Qualitative Evaluation of Scaphoid Remodeling in Bone-Grafted Scaphoid Nonunions [PDF]
The purpose of this case series is to identify and illustrate the phenomenon of scaphoid remodeling in skeletally mature subjects following bone grafting for scaphoid nonunion. Nine patients with scaphoid nonunions were treated with interpositional bone grafting (with iliac crest bone graft) and K-wire fixation. The mean length of follow-up was 28.6±9

Scanning and Radiology of the Carpal Scaphoid Bone [PDF]
The value of isotope scanning in patients with suspected fracture of the scaphoid bone of the wrist was examined. For this purpose comparable examinations were made of 50 patients using both radiography and isotope scanning. With a normal scan, the suspicion of fracture or other bone diseases can be excluded.

DISLOCATION OF THE CARPAL SCAPHOID AND SEMILUNAR BONES [PDF]
Dislocation of the carpal bones is a rare occurrence. A review of the literature shows that only very few cases of dislocation of the carpal bones have been reported. Inquiry among my orthopedic colleagues revealed that many of them had not seen a single case, while others had seen one or at most two cases during their entire experience.
