A neurophylogenetic approach provides new insight to the evolution of Scaphopoda

Evolution & Development, 2015
SUMMARYThe position of scaphopods in molluscan phylogeny remains singularly contentious, with several sister relationships supported by morphological and phylogenomic data: Scaphopoda + Bivalvia (Diasoma), Scaphopoda + Cephalopoda (Variopoda), and Scaphopoda + Gastropoda.

Multigene approach on the phylogeny of Scaphopoda (Mollusca)

2022
Although scaphopods have a worldwide marine distribution, they are still little studied. Above all, the evolutionary relationships of the approximately 570 species are still unclear today. In particular, the monophyly of several genus- und family-level taxa is uncertain.

Suprageneric Phylogeny In Scaphopoda

1995
Abstract Scaphopoda are considered one of the lesser classes of the molluscan phylum and the most uniform class among the Conchifera. Rough estimates of the number of recent scaphopods suggest between 500 and 600 species (Steiner, unpublished), and according to Pilsbry and Sharp (1897) 300 to 400 are known to be extinct.

Mollusca. Amphineura und Scaphopoda

1932

Mollusca I Polyplacophora,Scaphopoda,and Gastropoda

1990
Abstract The molluscs constitute one of the largest groups of marine organisms and, with the exception of the Monoplacophora, representatives of all classes may be found in British waters. The basic molluscan body plan has responded adaptively to environmental pressures and opportunities, perhaps more so than any other phylum of marine ...
