Scapular kinematics and muscle activity during Yi Jin Bang exercises

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2023
Introduction: Scapular dyskinesis is commonly associated with subacromial pain syndrome (SAPS). Addressing scapular dyskinesis is widely accepted as an important component of shoulder rehabilitation.

Arthroscopic Dorsal Scapular Nerve Decompression for Painful Scapulothoracic Abnormal Motion: Technique and Indications

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques
Patients with scapulothoracic abnormal motion can present with debilitating medial scapular border pain. In patients with scapulothoracic abnormal motion and evidence of diffuse medial scapular border pain along the dorsal scapular nerve (DSN ...

Forensic and clinical implications of scapula length: A radiological study in Delta State, Nigeria

open access: yesMRIMS Journal of Health Sciences
Background: The morphometry of the scapula exhibits sexual dimorphism, which makes it crucial for sex determination in forensic contexts and guides orthopedic surgeons in the management of shoulder girdle fractures.

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.

Scapular Dyskinesia, the forgotten culprit of shoulder pain and how to rehabilitate

open access: yesSICOT-J, 2019
The improper movement of the scapula during shoulder movement is termed scapular dyskinesis and is an often-forgotten cause of pain and dysfunction. The scapula is a key part of the upper limb kinematic chain and is a vital component of the glenohumeral ...

Neurovascular Contacts in the Pathophysiology of Neuralgic Amyotrophy: An Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuralgic amyotrophy (NA) is a prevalent, monophasic, multifocal immune‐mediated neuropathy. A distinctive characteristic of the disease is the occurrence of nerve or fascicle constrictions and torsions (NA‐associated focal nerve lesions, NAFL). The pathophysiology underlying this phenomenon remains to be fully elucidated.
