Alterations of scapular kinematics and associated muscle activation specific to symptomatic dyskinesis type after conscious control

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Scapular orientation and movements can affect the function of the shoulder. However, evidence is limited on whether symptomatic subjects can actively maintain the scapula in a neutral position through conscious control.

Investigation of Posterior Shoulder Tightness on Scapular Dyskinesis

open access: yes, 2020
Purpose: It has been theorized that posterior shoulder tightness may contribute to scapular dyskinesis; however, it is not yet clear. The aim of the study was to investigate the association between posterior shoulder tightness and scapular dyskinesis in ...

Scapular dyskinesis: Patterns, functional disability and associated factors in people with shoulder disorders

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Patterns of scapular dyskinesis have unique scapular kinematics and associated muscular activation. The characteristics of unique dyskinesis patterns may be associated with functional disability.

Scapular kinematics and muscle activity during Yi Jin Bang exercises

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2023
Introduction: Scapular dyskinesis is commonly associated with subacromial pain syndrome (SAPS). Addressing scapular dyskinesis is widely accepted as an important component of shoulder rehabilitation.

Comprehensive classification test of scapular dyskinesis: A reliability study

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Assessment of scapular dyskinesis (SD) is of clinical interest, as SD is believed to be related to shoulder pathology. However, no clinical assessment with sufficient reliability to identify SD and provide treatment strategies is available ...

What factors contribute to the Scapular Assistance Test result? A classification and regression tree approach.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2022
The aim of this study was to determine predictive factors related to the Scapular Assistance Test in individuals with shoulder pain during arm elevation, and to analyze how these predictors interact in a nonlinear manner to discriminate the result of a ...

Scapular dyskinesis: Diagnosis and treatment [PDF]

open access: yesOA Musculoskeletal Medicine, 2013
Introduction Scapular dyskinesis is a condition responsible for alteration of the normal position and kinematics of the scapula rather than a disease. It can thus be found in healthy individuals or be responsible for a syndrome characterised by several symptoms and objective findings, called SICK, which indicates the main features of the disease.

Brachial Plexus Wrapping by Free Perforator Fat Flap for Treatment of Recurrent Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT A 35‐year‐old woman with recurrent neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome underwent supraclavicular neurolysis and brachial plexus wrapping using a free DIEP flap. At 2‐year follow‐up, pain and functional scores (VAS, DASH, SF‐36) significantly improved. Free fat flaps offer a low morbidity option for reducing perineural fibrosis in RNTOS.

Long‐term outcomes of arthroscopic Bankart repair with additional posteroinferior capsular plication in patients with anterior shoulder instability and hyperlaxity: Minimum 10‐year follow‐up

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, Volume 13, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the long‐term outcomes of arthroscopic Bankart repair with additional posteroinferior capsular plication in patients with anterior shoulder instability and hyperlaxity, and to compare the outcomes of posteroinferior capsular plication using suture‐only fixation versus suture anchor fixation.
