INTRODUCED SCARABAEINAE (=COPRINAE) (COLEOPTERA) IN NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand Entomologist, 1973Two Australian species of Onthophagus Latreille, O. pranulatus Boheman and O. posticus Erichson have long been recognised as present in New Zealand. More recently attempts were made to introduce Copris incertus Say from Western Samoa and reported here for the first time are records of Epirinus aeneus Wied., from the Cape region of South Africa ...

A molecular phylogenetic analysis of the Scarabaeinae (dung beetles)
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2007The dung beetles (Scarabaeinae) include ca. 5000 species and exhibit a diverse array of morphologies and behaviors. This variation presumably reflects the adaptation to a diversity of food types and the different strategies used to avoid competition for vertebrate dung, which is the primary breeding environment for most species.

Diversity and distribution of Phanaeini (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Scarabaeinae) in Mexico
Zootaxa, 2017In this study, we systematized available distribution data, obtained from biological databases and relevant literature, for Mexican species belonging to the tribe Phanaeini. The main objectives were to provide an overall description of the distribution records in biological collections, to detect potential sampling biases, to describe the seasonality ...
