Administration of the NOD2 Agonist MDP Reduces Cryptosporidium parvum Infection in Neonatal Mice Through IL‐22 Involvement

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 55, Issue 10, October 2025.
Neonatal mice infected with C. parvum and treated with MDP, a NOD2 agonist, exhibited reduced intestinal infection. This protective effect was mediated by a local immune response involving neutrophil recruitment, IL‐22 production, antimicrobial peptide expression, and epithelial regeneration in an IFN‐γ‐dependent manner.

Diverse Subpopulations of Reactive Astrocytes Following Chronic Toxoplasma Infection

open access: yesGlia, Volume 73, Issue 10, Page 2003-2024, October 2025.
Main Points Toxoplasma infection results in distinct astrocyte subpopulations. Chronically labeled reactive astrocytes appear transcriptionally plastic and can regain acute inflammatory responding and naive homeostatic astrocytic gene patterns in the presence of ongoing neuroinflammation.

Wildfire, salvage logging and warming: Their interactive effects on boreal conifer reforestation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 62, Issue 10, Page 2657-2675, October 2025.
This study demonstrates that artificial regeneration through planting can support forest recovery following wildfire, especially under high fire severity in sites where natural regeneration is poor. Salvage logging can enhance the growth of P. sylvestris seedlings and indirectly benefit P.
