Adaptive scattered data fitting by extension of local approximations to hierarchical splines

open access: yes, 2017
We introduce an adaptive scattered data fitting scheme as extension of local least squares approximations to hierarchical spline spaces. To efficiently deal with non-trivial data configurations, the local solutions are described in terms of (variable ...

Super-Earths in the TW Hya disc [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We test the hypothesis that the sub-millimetre thermal emission and scattered light gaps seen in recent observations of TW Hya are caused by planet-disc interactions.

Scattered Data Interpolation Using Data Dependant Optimization Techniques

open access: yesGraphical Models, 2002
Summary: Interpolation of scattered data has many applications in different areas. Recently, this problem has gained a lot of interest for CAD applications, in combination with the process of reverse engineering, i.e., the construction of CAD models for existing objects.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Analytical approach to the problem of electromagnetic wave scattering by a cylindrical hole in a thin metal screen

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2023
A method of analytical study of a metal film perforated by cylindrical nanoholes as the basis of a metasurface has been proposed. The formulas deduced completely determine the electromagnetic field of a wave scattered by the hole at any distance from the

The influence of diffuse scattered light II. Observations of galaxy haloes and thick discs and hosts of BCGs

open access: yes, 2015
Studies of deep photometry of galaxies have presented discoveries of excess light in surface-brightness and colour profiles at large radii in the form of diffuse faint haloes and thick discs.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

An efficient algorithm for the large-scale smoothing of scattered data retrieved from remote sounding experiments [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2003
We present a new algorithm for smoothing/interpolation of two-dimensional fields applicable to noisy data observed at scattered sites. The technique is based on a special statistics allowing one to simultaneously minimize the fit residual and the

Inverse Obstacle Scattering Using Reduced Data [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1998
Summary: The classical result of Schiffer in acoustic scattering is that a knowledge of the far field pattern for all observation directions and all incident directions at a fixed wave number \(k\) uniquely determines the sound-soft scattering obstacle \(D\).

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.
