Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

An Improved C1 rational Bernstein–Bézier triangular patch for scattered data interpolation

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
Scattered data interpolation is important in sciences, engineering, and medical-based problems. The degree smoothness attained is either C1 or C2. However, based on our simulations, we found that, Hussain and Hussain (2011) scheme is not producing C1 ...

An efficient algorithm for the large-scale smoothing of scattered data retrieved from remote sounding experiments [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2003
We present a new algorithm for smoothing/interpolation of two-dimensional fields applicable to noisy data observed at scattered sites. The technique is based on a special statistics allowing one to simultaneously minimize the fit residual and the

Complementary Lidstone interpolation on scattered data sets [PDF]

open access: yesNumerical Algorithms, 2012
In order to generalize the complementary lidstone interpolation (CLI) in the context of scattered data, the authors extend the CLI polynomial to three-point bivariate polynomials. Numerical results show that this algorithm maintains a good accuracy of approximation even in the presence of strongly lacunary data.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Fast and Adaptive Bidimensional Empirical Mode Decomposition Using Order-Statistics Filter Based Envelope Estimation

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2008
A novel approach for bidimensional empirical mode decomposition (BEMD) is proposed in this paper. BEMD decomposes an image into multiple hierarchical components known as bidimensional intrinsic mode functions (BIMFs).

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Partition of Unity Interpolation on Multivariate Convex Domains

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper we present a new algorithm for multivariate interpolation of scattered data sets lying in convex domains $\Omega \subseteq \RR^N$, for any $N \geq 2$.

HIV‐1 establishes immediate latency in T cells expressing the viral Nef protein

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Nef is a viral protein often omitted from HIV‐1 reporter viruses. Consequently, its role in viral latency is unclear. We developed three novel dual reporter HIV‐1 derivatives that express Nef and allow for detection of latent and productive infection. Using these reporters, we show that Nef does not affect the establishment of immediate viral latency ...

Korovkin-type convergence results for multivariate Shepard formulae

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2009
We present a new convergence proof for classic multivariate Shepard formulae within the context of Korovkin-type convergence results for positive operators on spaces of continuous real valued functions.
