Chronological and Spatial Distribution of Skeletal Muscle Fat Replacement in FHL1‐Related Myopathies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Variants in the FHL1 gene cause FHL1‐related myopathies (FHL1‐RMs), a group of neuromuscular disorders with diverse clinical presentations. This study aimed to comprehensively characterize the spatial and temporal patterns of skeletal muscle fat replacement throughout the whole body in FHL1‐RMs, to examine disease progression over ...

Linear polarization measurements with clouds of tholins produced by radio-frequency plasma

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2011
The linear polarization of the light scattered by fluffy agglomerates of tholins produced by a RF plasma is correlated to the physical properties of the samples. The results are compared to space observations of Titan's aerosols.

Dynamic anti-plane behavior of rare earth giant magnetostrictive medium with a circular cavity defect in semi-space

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
An analytical solution to the anti-plane dynamics problem of semi-space rare earth giant magnetostrictive media with circular cavity defects near the horizontal boundary under the action of SH wave is studied.

Three-dimensional laser velocimeter simultaneity detector [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
A three-dimensional laser Doppler velocimeter has laser optics for a first channel positioned to create a probe volume in space, and laser optics and for second and third channels, respectively, positioned to create entirely overlapping probe volumes in ...

Reduced Muscular Carnosine in Proximal Myotonic Myopathy—A Pilot 1H‐MRS Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Myotonic dystrophy type 2 (proximal myotonic myopathy, PROMM) is a progressive multisystem disorder with muscular symptoms (proximal weakness, pain, myotonia) and systemic manifestations such as diabetes mellitus, cataracts, and cardiac arrhythmias.

Technical note for microvascular decompression at trigeminal neuralgia caused by its’ compression by vertebral artery

open access: yesUkrainian Neurosurgical Journal, 2008
The technique of microvascular decompression at trigeminal neuralgia caused by nerve’s flattening against the tentorium is described. The original method is used to make a space between the tentorium and tortuous artery — inserting a piece of ...

Discovery and Targeted Proteomic Studies Reveal Striatal Markers Validated for Huntington's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Clinical trials for Huntington's disease (HD) enrolling persons before clinical motor diagnosis (CMD) lack validated biomarkers. This study aimed to conduct an unbiased discovery analysis and a targeted examination of proteomic biomarkers scrutinized by clinical validation. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid was obtained from PREDICT‐HD and

A feynman path integral representation for elastic wave scattering by anisotropic weakly perturbations

open access: yes, 2012
We write a space-time Feynman path integral representation for scattered elastic wave fields from a weakly compact supported anisotropic non-homogeneity.Replacement by a new version where We (I!) propose a new tomographic inversion methodology based ...

Wave space interpretation of scattered ultrasound

open access: yesUltrasound in Medicine & Biology, 1988
Wave space is described nonmathematically for design and interpretation of ultrasound scattering experiments. By considering ultrasound scattering from a variety of targets and geometries, the wave space approach is shown to describe target characteristics in terms of spatial frequencies and their amplitudes.

Glymphatic Dysfunction Reflects Post‐Concussion Symptoms: Changes Within 1 Month and After 3 Months

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) may alter glymphatic function; however, its progression and variability remain obscure. This study examined glymphatic function following mTBI within 1 month and after 3 months post‐injury to determine whether variations in glymphatic function are associated with post‐traumatic symptom severity ...
