Correction Algorithm For Sound Scattering Coefficient Measurements
Scattering coefficient measurements according to ISO 17497-1 are very sensitive to temperature and humidity changes in the reverberant room. Even variations as small as 0.1 K can significantly influence effective reverberation times and lead to wrong results.

Integral identities for reflection, transmission, and scattering coefficients
Several integral identities related to acoustic scattering are presented. In each case the identity involves the integral over frequency of a physical quantity. For instance, the integrated transmission loss, a measure of the transmitted acoustic energy through an inhomogeneous layer, is shown to have a simple expression in terms of spatially averaged ...

Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.

Two-stream theory of spectral reflectance of snow [PDF]
Spectral reflectance of snow under diffuse illumination is studied using the two-stream approximation of the radiative transfer equation. The scattering and absorption within the snowcover due to the randomly distributed ice grains are characterized by ...

For the first time, a highly sensitive electrochemical biosensor based on SiO2‐based hairy particles with a grafted PDMAEMA polymer brush containing a quantifiable and large amount of immobilized Laccase is reported. The fabricated biosensor exhibits a sensitivity of 0.14 A·m⁻¹, a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.1 µm, and a detection range of 0.3–750 µm,
