Diffusion‐Weighted Imaging for the Evaluation of the Sacroiliac Joint in Pediatric Patients

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Maturational signal in the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) of skeletally immature youth is often misinterpreted as inflammation. Diagnostic tools that improve specificity are greatly needed. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values from diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI), when used with standard imaging, may enhance diagnostic accuracy.

Measurement of the Scattering Matrix and Extinction Coefficient of the Chaff Corridor

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This article investigates the strategies to measure the scattering matrix and the extinction coefficient of the chaff corridor. A complete error model is adopted to describe the power transmission properties of the indoor measurement system.

Glucose detection in a highly scattering medium with diffuse photon-pair density wave [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences, 2017
We propose a novel optical method for glucose measurement based on diffuse photon-pair density wave (DPPDW) in a multiple scattering medium (MSM) where the light scattering of photon-pair is induced by refractive index mismatch between scatters and ...

Convexification of a 3-D coefficient inverse scattering problem

open access: yes, 2018
A version of the so-called "convexification" numerical method for a coefficient inverse scattering problem for the 3D Hemholtz equation is developed analytically and tested numerically.

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

FEATURES OF LIGHT SCATTERING BY SURFACE FRACTAL STRUCTURES

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2009
The average coefficient of light scattering by surface fractal structures is calculated within the limits of the Kirchhoff method. A normalized band-limited Weierstrass function is presented for modeling 2D fractal rough surfaces.

Time-series SAR scattering coefficients over woodland: trend analysis and explainable modelling

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science
In the era of large models, massive amounts of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) scattering data need to be synthesized to meet the demand for interpretation training, which calls for clear temporal patterns of time-series SAR for sequence generation ...

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.
