A New Method for Parameter Estimation of Attributed Scattering Centers Based on Amplitude-phase Separation

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2019
Parameter estimation of Attributed Scattering Centers (ASCs) corresponding to scattering geometries on targets plays an important role in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging-assisted Automatic Target Recognition (ATR). To achieve computational savings

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Quantum critical fluctuations in disordered d-wave superconductors

open access: yes, 2002
Quasiparticles in the cuprates appear to be subject to anomalously strong inelastic damping mechanisms. To explain the phenomenon, Sachdev and collaborators recently proposed to couple the system to a critically fluctuating order parameter mode of either

Ultrasound scatter in heterogeneous 3D microstructures: Parameters affecting multiple scattering [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2018
This paper reports on a computational study of ultrasound propagation in heterogeneous metal microstructures. Random spatial fluctuations in elastic properties over a range of length scales relative to ultrasound wavelength can give rise to scatter-induced attenuation, backscatter noise, and phase front aberration.

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Scattering of Ultrashort X-ray Pulses from Oriented NV Centers in the Diamond Structure

open access: yesCrystals
It is well known that the basis of diffraction analysis of matter is scattering, including the scattering of ultrashort laser pulses. In the theory of scattering of ultrashort pulses, the pulse duration parameter is usually not taken into account, which ...

Energy Gap Induced by Impurity Scattering: New Phase Transition in Anisotropic Superconductors

open access: yes, 1995
It is shown that layered superconductors are subjected to a phase transition at zero temperature provided the order parameter (OP) reverses its sign on the Fermi-surface but its angular average is finite.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Express Method to Estimate Structural Imperfection and Bone Tissue Status

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering, 2018
A new method for evaluating the bone status using the scattering parameter of hardness indexes (Weibull homogeneity coefficient m) is proposed. A comparative analysis of the condition of the bone tissue of birds, depending on age, breed and calcium ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
