MTRSRP: Joint Design of Multi-Triangular Ring and Self-Routing Protocol for BLE Networks [PDF]

open access: yesSensors
This paper presents the multi-triangular ring and self-routing protocol (MTRSRP), which is a new decentralized strategy designed to boost throughput and network efficiency in multiring scatternets. MTRSRP comprises two primary phases: leader election and

An On-Demand Bluetooth Scatternet Formation Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesLecture Notes in Computer Science, 2004
In this paper, we propose the On-Demand Bluetooth scatternet formation algorithm (ODBT). ODBT characterizes an ad hoc infrastructure with a tree topology. It is able to cope with topology changes due to either leaving or moving Bluetooth devices, as well as with devices that dynamically join the scatternet. It can support out-of-range devices.

A Bluetooth scatternet formation algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesGLOBECOM'01. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference (Cat. No.01CH37270), 2002
A Bluetooth ad hoc network can be formed by interconnecting piconets into scatternets. The constraints and properties of Bluetooth scatternets present special challenges in forming an ad hoc network efficiently. We present and analyse a new randomized distributed algorithm for Bluetooth scatternet formation. We prove that our algorithm achieves O(log n)

Distributed Construction and Maintenance of Bandwidth-Efficient Bluetooth Scatternets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Bluetooth networks can be constructed as piconets or scatternets depending on the number of nodes in the network. Although piconet construction is a well-defined process specified in Bluetooth standards, scatternet construction policies and algorithms ...

Autonomous proximity awareness of bluetooth devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper focuses on designing autonomous device discovery algorithms for Bluetooth networks. We first extend the conventional asymmetric Bluetooth link model to three point-to-point symmetric link models.

A Reconfigurable Mesh-Ring Topology for Bluetooth Sensor Networks

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
In this paper, a Reconfigurable Mesh-Ring (RMR) algorithm is proposed for Bluetooth sensor networks. The algorithm is designed in three stages to determine the optimal configuration of the mesh-ring network.

Using Artificial Intelligence in Wireless Sensor Routing Protocols [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper represents a dissertation about how an artificial intelligence technique can be applied to wireless sensor networks. Due to the constraints on data processing and power consumption, the use of artificial intelligence has been historically ...

A Reconfigurable Formation and Disjoint Hierarchical Routing for Rechargeable Bluetooth Networks

open access: yesEnergies, 2016
In this paper, a reconfigurable mesh-tree with a disjoint hierarchical routing protocol for the Bluetooth sensor network is proposed. First, a designated root constructs a tree-shaped subnet and propagates parameters k and c in its downstream direction ...
