Barriers and Facilitators for Implementing Resilience Coaching for Youth With Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain: Pediatric Rheumatologists’ Perspectives

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Promoting Resilience in Stress Management (PRISM) is a resilience coaching program designed for adolescents with chronic illness. We aimed to examine the perceived feasibility, acceptability, and appropriateness of PRISM among pediatric rheumatologists treating adolescents with chronic musculoskeletal pain and obtain recommendations for ...

Scheduling OLTP Transactions via Machine Learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Current main memory database system architectures are still challenged by high contention workloads and this challenge will continue to grow as the number of cores in processors continues to increase. These systems schedule transactions randomly across cores to maximize concurrency and to produce a uniform load across cores.

Nonclairvoyant scheduling

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 1994
AbstractVirtually all research in scheduling theory has been concerned with clairvoyant scheduling where it is assumed that the characteristics of a job (in particular, its execution time, release time and dependence on other jobs) are known a priori. This assumption is invalid for scheduling problems that arise in time-sharing operating systems where ...

Scaling Up Synthetic Cell Production Using Robotics and Machine Learning Toward Therapeutic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Synthetic cells (SCs) hold great promise for biomedical applications, but manual production limits scalability. This study presents an automated method for large‐scale SC synthesis, integrating robotic liquid handling and machine learning‐driven high‐throughput characterization.

Modeling and Accessing Smart Materials with Integrity Constraints in the Shapes Constraint Language and Ontologies—The SmaDi Way

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Integrity constraints enforce consistency and completeness on data. The article discusses a newly developed validator for checking integrity constraints in Shapes Constraint Language (SHACL) through reduction to SPARQL Protocol and RDF Query Language (SPARQL) queries. It can be used with systems for ontology‐based database access.

DYNAMIC MODEL OF THE BUDGET OF AN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION

open access: yesНаука Красноярья
For the study of complex socio-economic systems in a number of cases the method of mathematical modeling is the most acceptable. One of the most famous models in economics is the Keynes model.

Variable Annealing Length and Parallelism in Simulated Annealing

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we propose: (a) a restart schedule for an adaptive simulated annealer, and (b) parallel simulated annealing, with an adaptive and parameter-free annealing schedule.
