Scheimpflug imaging for laser refractive surgery

Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2013
To review the principles and clinical applications of Scheimpflug corneal and anterior segment imaging with special relevance for laser refractive surgery.Computerized Scheimpflug imaging has been used for corneal and anterior segment tomography (CASTm) in different commercially available instruments.

Repeatability and Agreement of a Swept-Source Optical Coherence Tomography-Based Biometer IOLMaster 700 Versus a Scheimpflug Imaging-Based Biometer AL-Scan in Cataract Patients.

Eye & contact lens, 2020
PURPOSE To compare the repeatability and agreement between a swept-source biometer and a Scheimpflug biometer in cataract patients. METHODS Three consecutive measurements were obtained using a swept-source biometer (IOLMaster 700) and a Scheimpflug ...

Corneal curvature and thickness – Scheimpflug

Acta Ophthalmologica, 2022
AbstractAlthough the Scheimpflug principle was first described over a century ago, the clinical use of Scheimpflug camera in anterior segment imaging started only a decade ago. Scheimpflug imaging has since advanced significantly and modern instruments provide comprehensive imaging and topographic data of the anterior segment using a noncontact method.

Higher-order aberration measurements: Comparison between Scheimpflug and dual Scheimpflug–Placido technology in normal eyes

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2019
To compare higher order aberrations (HOAs) in normal eyes between a Scheimpflug imaging system (Pentacam HR) and dual Scheimpflug-Placido imaging system (Galilei G4).Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA.Retrospective case series.Eyes screened for refractive surgery were evaluated sequentially ...

Corneal powers measured with a rotating Scheimpflug camera

British Journal of Ophthalmology, 2015
Keratometry measures the anterior corneal curvature only. Corneal power is calculated by multiplication with the keratometric refractive index, which takes into account the average negative posterior corneal power. The aim of this study was to calculate and compare various expressions for total corneal power assessed with Scheimpflug camera techniques,

Scheimpflug Camera-Based Systems

2019
The Scheimpflug principles enable the capture of focused images of objects that are not parallel to the camera and lens, such as a curved cornea. This is achieved by careful movement of the image and lens planes. In the Pentacam, this is achieved by rotation around a central axis and capture of 50 meridional pictures.

[Scheimpflug photography of the lens].

Fortschritte der Ophthalmologie : Zeitschrift der Deutschen Ophthalmologischen Gesellschaft, 1989
The introduction of Scheimpflug photography of the anterior eye segment, the construction of appropriate equipment, and the development of procedures for image analysis have decisively influenced clinical and experimental research on the anterior eye segment.

Scheimpflug analysis in an epidemiological study

Acta Ophthalmologica, 2015
SummaryRadiation cataract enhances age‐related scattering increase. Radiation induces formation of subcapsular and cortical cataracts. Light scattering changes in lens layers evidences radiation damage to lens proteins. Scheimpflug imaging today offers standardized recording procedures minimizing the operator influence.

Galilei Dual Scheimpflug Analyzer

2020
Corneal topography is the most commonly used imaging technology for evaluating the anterior corneal surface. Scheimpflug imaging is a newer technology that permits evaluation of both the anterior and posterior surfaces of the cornea and provides three-dimensional reconstruction of the cornea. The Galilei dual Scheimpflug analyzer (software version 5.2,
