Genomics‐led approach to drug testing in models of undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
GA text Genomic data from undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma patients and preclinical models were used to inform a targeted drug screen. Selected compounds were tested in 2D and 3D cultures of UPS cell lines. A combination of trametinib and infigratinib was synergistic in the majority of UPS cell lines tested, which was further confirmed in an ex ...

NIMS polymer database PoLyInfo (II): machine-readable standardization of polymer knowledge expression

open access: yesScience and Technology of Advanced Materials: Methods
Herein, we propose a machine-readable knowledge representation of PoLyInfo, the polymer database of National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) of Japan with more than half a million data points.

A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

The Creating Subject, the Brouwer-Kripke Schema, and infinite proofs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Kripke's Schema (better the Brouwer-Kripke Schema) and the Kreisel-Troelstra Theory of the Creating Subject were introduced around the same time for the same purpose, that of analysing Brouwer's 'Creating Subject arguments'; other applications have been found since. I first look in detail at a representative choice of Brouwer's arguments.

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

Schema Integration on Massive Data Sources [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
As the fundamental phrase of collecting and analyzing data, data integration is used in many applications, such as data cleaning, bioinformatics and pattern recognition. In big data era, one of the major problems of data integration is to obtain the global schema of data sources since the global schema could be hardly derived from massive data sources ...

The Role of Schema Salience in Ad Processing and Evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes
Advertising grids such as the Rossiter-Percy grid (Rossiter & Percy 1991, 1997) propose that brand-matching advertising is more effective than brand-mismatching advertising.
