Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Fréquences alléliques de la caséine αS1 chez les boucs d’insémination de race Alpine et Saanen de 1975 à 1994

open access: yesINRAE Productions Animales, 1995

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Una aproximación al paisaje construido de los Velasco en la Baja Edad Media

open access: yesE-Spania
In this text I present a first approach to the results derived from applying the schema-model of the idea of place developed by Miguel Aguiló in his monograph El paisaje construido.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Numerical modelling of free thin film dynamics

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2003
The dynamics of a free thin film attached to a rectangular frame surrounded by an ambient gas is studied theoretically. The mathematical model is described by evolutionary nonlinear system for the longitudinal velocity components and film thickness.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Alternatives forms of political participation in Japan 1983-2003. The 1996 Okinawa Referendum

open access: yesPortes: Revista mexicana de estudios sobre la Cuenca del Pacífico, 2007
In this article it is depicted the evolution of the civil society, that gradually brings to the citizens an increasingly weight in the decision-making process in Japan, where the society traditionally has been regarded as highly hierarchical.
