A new Schiff base with D-π-D type, (1E,2E)-3-[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]prop-2-en-1-ylidene)phenylamine, has been successfully synthesized using the reaction of (2E)-3-[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]acrylaldehyde with aniline.
