2012Paranoid and schizoid personality disorders are not currently proposed to be in the DSM-5 despite a long history in the clinical lexicon. This chapter reviews theoretical and empirical research on these conditions in this context. Several alternative hypotheses to the view that these constructs reflect valid syndromes are described.
