Evolutionary morphology of the haplorhine hamate

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Primates adopt a variety of hand postures during an impressive diversity of locomotor and manipulative behaviors. Morphological research has found that elements of the hand skeleton, such as the hamate, hold key information for inferring hand use and locomotor kinematics in extinct species.

Body donor programs in Australia and New Zealand: Current status and future opportunities

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, Volume 18, Issue 3, Page 301-328, March 2025.
Abstract Body donation is critical to anatomy study in Australia and New Zealand. Annually, more than 10,000 students, anatomists, researchers, and clinicians access tissue donated by local consented donors through university‐based body donation programs. However, little research has been published about their operations.

Performance of multimodal large language models on image‐based surgical anatomy, anatomical pathology, and radiology questions

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Multimodal large language models (LLMs) are now deeply integrated into medical education and widely used by medical students, yet it remains unclear whether current models possess the accuracy and reliability needed to support image‐based learning.
