scResponse: A Rank‐Based Method for Identifying Cell States That Contribute to Immunotherapy Response by Single‐Cell Data

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Although the tumor microenvironment is known to shape immunotherapy response, its key determinants remain elusive, underscoring the critical need for single‐cell resolution analytical frameworks. We present scResponse, an efficient algorithm to quantify single‐cell responses to immunotherapy. By capturing diverse cellular subtypes and states associated

Should Students Engaged to Their Study? (Academic Burnout and School-Engagement among Students)

open access: yesGuidena, 2017
Inability to deal with lectures efficiently leads students vulnerable to academic burnout. Burnout contributes to the high dropout rate among students, and this phenomenon has occurred on several universities in Indonesia.

A Glimpse at the School Dropout Problem [PDF]

open access: yes
Dropout is a problem for many reasons. One, at the aggregate economy level wherein education is known to be an important determinant of economic growth, premature dropout means loss of potential productivity. And two, within the education sector, dropout

KIDS COUNT Indicator Brief: Reducing the High School Dropout Rate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Outlines the economic costs of dropping out of high school and proposes dropout prevention strategies, such as taking a long-term approach starting with school readiness, enhancing schools' holding power, and addressing outside factors and at-risk ...

Remote Magnetomechanical Neuromodulation Uncovers Therapeutic Mechanisms for Alleviating Parkinsonian Symptoms in Freely Moving Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Magnetomechanical neuromodulation using magnetic nanodiscs enables remote activation of neurons. In a hemiparkinsonian mouse model, alternating magnetic fields actuate the nanodiscs to generate torque that opens mechanosensitive ion channels within the subthalamic nucleus, thereby modulating basal ganglia motor circuitry.

The Landscape and Regulation of Histone Crotonylation in Mammalian Gametes and Early Embryos

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Histone crotonylation undergoes a genome‐wide transition from broad domains to canonical narrow peaks during minor zygotic genome activation (ZGA). This remodeling is required for proper major ZGA and blastocyst formation. Disruption of this transition by transcriptional inhibition, metabolic perturbation, or HDAC1 dysfunction impairs embryonic ...

School Dropout in the Indonesia-Timor Leste Border: Moderating Role of Social Environment and Learning Motivation

open access: yesLectura: Jurnal Pendidikan
This study is motivated by persistently high dropout rate at senior high school level in the border region between Indonesia and Timor-Leste. The school participation rate at this level reaches only 60.42%, indicating that 39.58% of students do not ...

Decoding Spatial Heterogeneity and Multi‐Omics Regulation with Hierarchical Graph Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Recent advances in spatial multi‐omics technologies have enabled the simultaneous profiling of multiple molecular layers within the same tissue slice, providing unprecedented opportunities to investigate tissue spatial organization. However, most existing computational methods identify spatial domains in a purely data‐driven manner, rarely ...

The early identification of risk factors on the pathway to school dropout in the SIODO study: a sequential mixed-methods study

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2012
Background School dropout is a persisting problem with major socioeconomic consequences. Although poor health probably contributes to pathways leading to school dropout and health is likely negatively affected by dropout, these issues are relatively ...

STAID: A Self‐Refining Deep Learning Framework for Spatial Cell‐Type Deconvolution with Biologically Informed Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
STAID is a unified deep learning framework that couples iterative pseudo‐spot refinement with neural network training through a feedback loop and exploits gene co‐expression information to model higher‐order interactions, achieving accurate and robust cell‐type deconvolution in spatial transcriptomics.
